The Great Ring of the Gražutė bike trail
Galery
1-2 days
45 km
An exclusive 45km route for those bike riders who love challenges. This trail links the most interesting cultural and natural objects in the Park. We recommend the use of increased accessibility bikes when travelling along the hilly surface of the Park and the forest paths. Please note that part of the route is on a gravel road, therefore tourists with children should be especially careful!
This trail will introduce you to the unique natural features of the Park: Šventas lake with no outlet, the sixth largest lake in the country – Luodis, a spectacular artificial body of water with more than 50 islands – Antalieptė Reservoir. Along the route, tourists will see the country’s highest stone church in Salakas, the Kiemoniai mound, the altar mound called Kunigokalnis (the Priest’s mound), 4 groups of barrows, Tiltiškės water mill, the old Tartar and Jewish cemetery, and the natural monuments – Salakas Pine and Spruce Sisters.
We recommend starting your trip in Salakas, and visiting the Gražutė Regional Park Visitor Centre (Laisvoji sq. 14, Salakas) before setting out. There is a convenient parking lot near the Visitor Centre.
